40 Days of Prayer and Fasting Journal, Day 1 | 40 Días de Oración y Ayuno, Día 1

Psalm 130:5 was on my heart as we started this journey of prayer and fasting as a church. It says, “I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in his word I hope”. It describes my heart as your pastor sometimes, as I hear of the enemy’s attacks on your life. There is little I can do as a man to solve some of the trials you face. But, my hope is in the Word of the LORD, who promises to be with us in each one of our trials. There is nothing impossible for Him!

Tengo el Salmo 130:5 en el corazón al comenzar esta jornada de oración y ayuno como iglesia. Dice, “Espero en el Señor; en Él espera mi alma, Y en Su palabra tengo mi esperanza.” Así es como a veces me siento como su pastor al enterarme de los ataques del enemigo contra sus vidas. Como hombre, poco puedo hacer para resolver muchas de las pruebas que enfrentan; sin embargo, mi esperanza está en la Palabra del Señor, quien promete estar con nosotros en cada una de nuestras pruebas. ¡Para Él no hay nada imposible!

So I am not hopeless. I know the power of prayer. Many of you have experienced it too. And so we are taking this time as a church to stand together, seeking GOD’s spiritual provision and guidance for those who are hurting among us during this season.

Así que no carezco de esperanza. Conozco el poder de la oración; muchos de ustedes también lo han experimentado. Por ello, como iglesia, dedicamos este tiempo a permanecer unidos, buscando la provisión espiritual y la guía de Dios para aquellos entre nosotros que están pasando por una situación difícil en esta etapa.

That fight does not look like the world expects. We start by being still. By waiting on the LORD. We seek Him with prayer and fasting. He is near the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18). In His presence there is fullness of joy (Psalm 16:11).

Esa batalla no se ve como el mundo espera. Comenzamos permaneciendo quietos ante Él Señor. Esperando en nuestro Redentor. Le buscamos en oración y ayuno. Él está cerca de los quebrantados de corazón (Salmo 34:18). En su Presencia hay plenitud de gozo (Salmo 16:11).

So enter this season of prayer and fasting in al humbleness, but with full expectations. God is on the move church! Let us be still and know that He is God (Psalm 46:10).

Así que entremos en esta temporada de oración y ayuno llenos de humildad, pero con expectativas grandes. ¡Dios está obrando, iglesia! Quedémonos quietos y reconozcamos que Él es Dios (Salmo 46:10).
