Love the Word | Ama las Escrituras

The wonderful benefits of modeling our lives to the Scriptures are innumerable. | Los beneficios maravillosos que resultan del modelar nuestra vida a la luz de las Escrituras son incalculables.

I’d like to highlight one for you that is incredibly practical and much-needed: peace. | Me gustaría resaltar uno que es muy práctico y también muy necesitado en nuestro tiempo: la paz.

Psalm 119:165 says, “Great peace have those who love your law, and nothing can make them stumble.” (ESV) | El Salmo 119:66 dice, “Los que aman tu Ley disfrutan de gran paz y nada los hace tropezar.” (NVI)

Great peace, sounds amazing, doesn’t it? It is what we need, what we seek. And it is right there for us. We just need to continue to develop that love for the Word. | Gran paz suena asombroso, ¿no es así? Es lo que necesitamos, lo que buscamos. Y está a nuestro alcance. Tan solo tenemos que continuar desarrollando ese amor por La Palabra de Dios.

Pero aún hay más, el versículo dice también que “nada los hace tropezar.” | And there is more, the verse says that, “nothing can make them stumble.”

We are secure when we stand on the Word. We do not lose our footing. | Podemos estar seguros cuando nos paramos en La Palabra. No resbalamos.

The King James Version translates it “nothing shall offend them,” giving us a flavor of the type of confidence we can have when we walk in the way of the Word. We are not easily offended. We are not easily rattled.   | La versión de “King James” dice que “nada los ofenderá,” dándonos un sabor del tipo de seguridad personal que tenemos cuando caminamos en los caminos de La Palabra de Dios.

Are you the type of person that is easily offended? Ever met someone like that? The disciple is not like that. We do not seek the approval of the world. We seek only the approval of God. | ¿Eres el tipo de personal que se ofende fácilmente? ¿Has conocido alguien así? El discípulo no se ofende fácilmente. Nosotros no buscamos la aprobación del mundo. Solo buscamos la aprobación de Dios.

Y es el amor por Su Palabra el que nos enseña lo que le agrada a Dios. | And it is the Word of God that teaches us what is pleasing to God.

The Word gives us great discernment. It gives us a proper understanding of the motives of the hearts. It guards us against the manipulations of others. | La Palabra nos da discernimiento. Nos permite comprender los motivos del corazón. Nos protege en contra de las manipulaciones de otros.

El Rey David nos dice en el Salmo 19:11 que por los estatutos de Dios “queda advertido tu siervo”. |  King David tells us in Psalm 19:11 that by the statutes of God “is thy servant warned”.

We need only listen to the warning. Every single day, remain in the Word, and listen to the voice of God protecting and guiding you. The result? Great peace. Hallelujah! | Tan solo necesitamos escuchar esa advertencia. Todos los días, permaneciendo en La Palabra, y escuchando la voz de Dios protegiéndonos y guiándonos. ¿El resultado? Gran paz. ¡Aleluya!
